Barn Beams, Reclaimed and Hand Hewn
Salvaged timbers from old farm buildings arrive to our yard in different sizes and types. A hand hewn timber is more rustic than one sawn on a mill. We ship both kinds country wide.
Most beams have a light brown patina when first salvaged from a building.
They will weather a gray color if allowed to spend several weeks outside.
We have 8 to 10 semi loads of salvaged wood in stock at all times.
Knots, cracks, peg holes, mortise pockets, nail holes, and other character marks
add to the rustic appeal of this antique wood.
Long lengths available.
Most old wood beams were crafted square, 6x6, 8x8, 10x10 and so on.
The 8x8 inch size is perhaps one of the more common timbers that was used for framing.
We have various species, oak, pine, hickory, elm and others as available.
Generally, pricing depends on how specific an antique timber you are seeking.
Length, width, species, condition, hand hewn or rough sawn.
Wood ceiling beams are hand selected and function perfect with a barn wood ceiling.
Our minimum order is about $200.
We are available by appointment. Please call if you wish to visit.
